MORE PILLOWS

I'm a pillow making robot.  I've got a stockpile of vintage calendar pillows to last me a hundred years!  For the new year,  I'm hoping to get a craft booth (and maybe Etsy!) at a coffee shop & start moving these puppies!  Here is a gallery of my oldies, but goodies!

I thought a post about years would be appropriate for the pending holiday.  I hope you have a good weekend & stay safe!  ~Minnesota Junker (Jane)

Fake Berries

I love the look of those red winter berries that grow wild. You can't bring them in, because they drop and make a big mess.  Even outside on the deck, they shrivel or turn black.  What's a girl gotta do to have cute red festive berries?

Make them.

I used 28 gauge Vintaj brand brass(just the right brown!) wire.

I found some branches, cut green(fresh) off trees and brush.
I chose thick, solid, stubby ones.  That way the tips won't break.

Do they look real?

This is the perfect decor for a minimalist decorator.
 Clean & simple, yet classy....

oops~I forgot to dust!

I found a pile of old green bottles in the woods.
I couldn't resist taking a few home.

Trash to treasure!

Christmas Planter

I hope you had a....
MERRY CHRISTMAS
(she's happier than she looks!)
Here is a quick look at my planter, all dressed up for the holiday.

Red velvet ribbon, balsam, birch logs & elk antlers!

It would look a whole lot better with snow.  This might be the ugliest Christmas ever in Minnesota.

Vintage Mirror

I snagged this old mirror for $10.00 and boy is it heavy!!!  I wanted to set it on a table, so it didn't rip a hole in my sheet rock.

Using my Cricut machine, I created some adhesive vinyl images.  It was fun dreaming up a scene.  Using three different colors worked well!

Thanks for looking, have a very Merry Christmas Eve!

Lovely Lady

I bought this lovely little lady last year. She wears a perfectly worn dress and just screams "I'm cute".

She found a place in my home, nestled amongst clear glass & old ornaments.

I know, the buffet is in rough shape.

Rudolph

I like vintage deer.  They're so whimsy & art nouveau!

I had to eye this plastic one up twice before taking the $3.50 plunge.  It works out great for me here, adding a prancing pose.  Somehow, I had to freshen up the rusty bowl & old ripped book end of the display.  It's a pure & noble presence.

The best of this summer's garage sale vintage ornaments got hung on this tiny tree. Who would sell such amazing old glass???  Such treasures.

Not Just For Soda

It's fun to get creative & use old items in new ways. Soda crates are always a delight to work with.

As-is

Ah, those sweet words...."as-is".  You either love it or turn your nose up to it. I guess the degree of damage is usually the determining factor.  But this sweet little cup came home with me for $1.  I still don't know where the damage is.  Maybe they glued the handle on so well, that I can't tell.  Could it be the pin head sized chip?

I think it's beautiful.  My intentions were do the "Tiny Tannenaums" that is in the 2009 issue of Midwest Living. (I keep magazines amost forever!)

It consists of digging an infant pine & giving it a vintage container home.  They looked ridiculous alone.  But when put in a holiday setting, it seemed to have the pint size appeal I was hoping for!

Here is how my display turned out. . .

Please ignore the distracting clutter background!

The article states the trees will lose hardiness after 2-3 weeks.  They might come out of winter hibernation(dormancy) and start to grow like a houseplant.  Water twice a week.
