Sweet Tiny Bells

Oh baby, these are so cute.
I've never seen such tiny bells with the most precious dainty ring in the world!

They have some markings on them, which adds charm.
Recently I spotted just one bell for $6.50 in an antique store.

Don't you just love them?
Garage sale find~ $1.

Mail Organizer

This cute rusty tray was priced right. It is now turned into a one-of-a-kind item. I chose to stuff a few old bed springs in it & make it a handy mail organizer!  It might be a little rusty, but the tray has a soft felt bottom.

The jar could hold stamps, address labels, paper clips, post its & more.  My favorite use, of course, is to fill it them with candy!  The fall M&M's are so pretty.

It sure beats that plastic office stuff for the home office.  Tell me what you think!

ALPHA & OMEGA

I found a sturdy coffee table or $10 at a garage sale & decided to give it a transformation.  My "before" photo got lost when my computer crashed, but I do have some "along the way" pics.  The top had NO finish left on it and was bone dry plus stained.  I painted it brown, distressed it, then started my inspirational phrase painting!  The legs were green & got a LOT of distressing to make the table look older than it is.

I wrote the whole Bible verse underneath the table.  Revelations 1:8  I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, "who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty"

My efforts here were to attempt to make the words seem like a vintage product label.  At the very least, I didn't what to go straight across and be boring!  The trick was to use a garbage can lid as the guide for my half circle!  Creativity knows no limits in my garage!

The letters are adhesive vinyl cut on the Cricut machine using my favorite font Old West cartridge.  It's always a risk picking the size and keeping things straight. The more you experiment, the easier it gets and I'm on a role this summer!  These letters were traced around & then painted on with acrylics.  A furniture polish gave the top a little shine, since my sanding made it dull.

The wax application...

All the previous pics were dull & from BEFORE I waxed.  Leave it to me to do things backwards!

I hope you've learned something or leave the blog feeling uplifted & inspired!  Now go get creative!!!

GRAND Grand Rapids

The Grand Rapids (MN) Swap meet in late July was just that:

GRAND

I blew a wad of cash faster than you can say "Bob's your uncle".
My friend, a newbie to the event, was simply overwhelmed with how big it was.
But she held up to like a champ & we covered every inch and closed the place down!
Most notable item?
Cooler caddy!

Speaking of coolers, we oogled over this old Pepsi one.

Cute, huh?  $23 seemed fair, but we weren't done looking yet!

Signs, signs, signs...

Priced so high :-(

Love pretty glass?

I did leave with an $8 set of pink Oyster Pearl candle holders!

The green Horseshoe #612 that I collect is so hard to find.
Someday I'll stumble on the $1000 butter dish for $10,
at least that's my plan! Hey, I can dream!

On the other end of the spectrum,
toy trucks

I guess having two sons makes me notice these more
did you spot the stack of enamelware?!

So much to see, your brain hurts (in a good way)

Tins, baskets, boxes, utensils, tables, pots....

Are you wondering what I got?

 watering can
large funnel
pickle jar
wagon
umbrella
books
wash boards
suitcases
sewing drawer
and much more!

Most unique?

Regina music box record
I had to look this up & found a Youtube video!
Now I want a player too!
The engineering of this baffles me!

Most rusty?

The wagon!

I made quite a scene leaving the sale with my high pitched squeaking!
It was worth the embarrassment.

These?  Not just for pickles.
I'm thinking croquet balls & thread spools!

More cameras....FEED the addiction!

My friend & I used our pooled purchases to deal down on prices.
This was a fun strategy!
She scored an old typewriter for $20.
There will be some awesome typewriter key jewelry as a result.

Dragonfly Dream

Hello to all my junker friends out there today!  I have to share with you a creation using this discarded picture frame.  Who would throw this old frame out?  Another garage sale free box rescue, I feel it's my duty.  Plus, I just love filling frames.  It's like a blank canvas.

The leaves are cardstock cut with my Cricut using the Pagoda cartridge.  The white "DREAM" letters are just rub-on.  The dragonfly is adhered with glue dots.  The DCWV brand "photo real" paper is just dreamy.  It makes me wish I was on a pontoon trolling along the shoreline!

This sign is in a contest, so if you have time please swing over to the Vintaj Brass Company blog & see all the awesome dragonfly creations!  I'm the odd duck, making a paper craft instead of jewelry.  The masterpieces are fabulous & the Vintaj Brass is just incredible.  If you think it's worthy, vote for #5.  The contest is only open for voting August 6-10.

Cedar Sign

I'm pleased to share with you sign created from the back of an old cedar patio bench!  The pretty scallop back just couldn't be left to rot in the woods where the in laws tossed it.  Minnesota Junker to the rescue!!!

I used my beloved Cricut to cut vinyl stencils & dabbed with a flat tip brush.  The best way to keep it rustic is to tap most of the paint off the brush on cardboard.

A poetic verse that puts life in perspective adorns the cedar & fits the project perfect!
