Who buys REALLY old wabblie chairs for $3???

 

I guess that would be me!

 

When I finally came to terms with the fact that
 it was NOT suitable for sitting on, it came apart.

I dismantled it carefully,
 hoping someday an crafty idea would strike me.

 

This long boring winter forced me to tackle the "chair back" project.

 

 

The chair was missing it's decorative corner knobs.

I added some rustic glass ones.

 

 

The Tim Holtz brand scrapbooking word band seemed to be THEE perfect phrase!

I filled the words in with white acrylic paint, so it would be easier to read.

Vintage thumb tacks hold it on.

 

 

 

 

The wings are also Tim Holtz embellishments.

The "Z" sewing table key is an authentic old piece.

The gems are from Maya Road.

A little sparkle was needed on the chair,

since it's all pretty rustic otherwise.

I bent wire to hang each one & screwed in eye hooks.

 

 

The shelf can hold a few smaller items.

 

 

A photograph can be clipped on the spindle for a personalized display.

 

I'm really excited to see if this creation sells in my craft booth

at the coffee shop.  Whoever buys it gets a true "one of a kind" shelf!

Painted Caddy

I bought a dark brown handled caddy from the thrift store

for $3.75, but forgot to take a "before" photo.

It was UGLY with hand painted flowers on the side,

but had potential to be super cute.

 

 

I love this turquoise color called "Forgotten Secret".

 

 

It's holding my "colorful cones" that were shown in a previous post.

Receipt Clipboard

Ever buy off Etsy?

I'll give you a good reason to consider it!

 

I very recently got an old receipt clipboard from

a seller named ohalbatross.

 

 

I honestly didn't even know what exactly it was.

Then I ran across this old advertisement.

Only a true junker would love something,

even if they had no idea what it really is!

We see it for what it could be!

 

It was so fun filling the clips with

just the right colored items to match my room.

 

 

 

 

The sunset photograph is one of my own captured images!

Last February I went on the candlelit hike at

St. Croix State Park & got some great shots of the river.

I used a paper trimmer & sliced it in three even chunks.

I matted them with white cardstock to help it stand out.

 

The butter flies are a stamp by Unity called Embrace You.

I stamped in black, on orange cardstock and cut them out.

 

 

The tag features some Tim Holtz

 distress inks and crackle stamp. 

The great phrase & wings are 

Close To My Heart stamps.

MANY HEARTS

I'M GUESSING YOU'VE SEEN THESE BEFORE.

MANY LITTLE PAPER HEARTS IN A FRAME.

THEY'RE ALSO CUTE WITH BUTTERFLIES OR PUMPKINS,

DEPENDING ON THE SEASON.

 

 

I REALLY LOVE THE OLD FRAME.

I PAID LESS THAN A DOLLAR

AT A GARAGE SALE FOR IT.

 

 

I STAMPED A SHEET OF PAPER WITH MUSIC NOTES,

THEN CUT THE HEARTS OUT USING MY CRICUT MACHINE.

THEN EACH HEART WAS OUTLINED WITH

BLACK INK USING A SPONGE.

THAT WAY THEY STAND OUT A LITTLE BETTER.

I CAN'T CUT GLITTER PAPER ON MY CRICUT,

SO THAT RED SPARKLE ONE WAS TRACED

AND HAND CUT.

 

THE BACKGROUND IS TIM HOLTZ PAPER

AND SO IS THE STAMP.

FEARLESS

WHAT COULD BE MADE FROM AN OLD

TRACTOR CAUTION SIGN?

 

I HAD SEVERAL IDEAS FOR THIS ONE.

THE OUTCOME WAS A TEEN STYLE

GRUNGE "FEARLESS" SIGN.

 

 

 

 

ARE YOU THINKING AEROSMITH?

I DIDN'T, UNTIL MY HUSBAND MENTIONED IT.

OH WELL, I LIKE THEIR MUSIC!

 

 

I EMBELLISHED,

USING AN OLD LOCK, KEY

& TIM HOLTZ BAUBLE (GEMS).

 

THE HEART DESIGN WAS CUT

 IN ADHESIVE VINYL USING THE

INDIE ARTE CARTRIDGE ON MY CRICUT MACHINE. 

 I DABBED PAINT AROUND IT FOR A DISTRESSED OUTLINE. 

 THEN I CUT "FEARLESS" USING

THE GRAPHICALLY SPEAKING CARTRIDGE

& FILLED THE NEGATIVE SPACE IN

 FOR A BOLD TITLE.

 

I DIG THIS STYLE.

I CAN LIVE VICARIOUSLY

THROUGH THE ART I MAKE, RIGHT?

 

IT'S NOW FOR SALE IN MY BOOTH.

I SURE HOPE SOME COOL CHIC

FINDS IT TO BE TOTALLY EPIC!

Red Design "LOVE"

I SEE BEAUTY IN EVERYTHING.
THIS OLD SALVAGED WOOD WAS PURCHASED IN IOWA.
IT WAS HALF PRICE, COSTING ME $2.50
I WONDER IF IT WAS FROM AN OLD BUFFET MIRROR
OR MAYBE A WOODEN HEADBOARD.
REGARDLESS, I GAVE IT NEW LIFE!

Pink Door

I've been have trouble loading photos to my blog.
What a nice way to start the new year,
with technical difficulty.
So I now have to move pic to Picasa.
If anyone has advice for me, please share.
It's much easier to pull pics from my computer file.

Now, on to the fun stuff!

Someone out there is gonna like this pink door.

Pink isn't my thing, but there are plenty of

people that appreciate it.

So when I scored this old door from a house

being torn down, I chose to leave it soft pink.
