Dr. Bag

Somehow, I scored TWO doctor bags this summer at sales.
One is now on display in my craft booth for the holidays.
It's loaded with poinsettias.

I love bows.
Pretty much everything, in my mind, could use a bow.
I made this one out of my burlap potato sack.

I stamped this tag,
using my Ippity Bit O Burlap background stamp.
The sentiment is Unity brand,

Rust Love

Here are a few examples of great rusty decor.
I simply love rust.

Example #1
Tonka
I paid about $12 for this truck at a garage sale.
I love it so much, even though the front is missing it's window.
I had to wire it so the hydrolics wouldn't dump the box!
The bottle brush trees were only .20 each at Ben Franklin!

Example #2
Shovel
I bought this on Ebay for a total (shipping included) of $20.
It needed a handle,
which was found on a used kid's shovel at the thrift store for $3.50
A "fixer upper" can be a good bargain on vintage items.
A few faux boughs & burlap bow spruced it up.

Music Tray

Boy was this ugly tray begging for help!

I decided to practice my modge podge on it.
I'll never hold a candle my sister's modge podge ability.
The good news is, this tray could not get any uglier!

I used vintage hymn book pages.

I got the lantern at Shopko for $20
after being inpired by Tim Holtz.

Pinned Image

He posted on Facebook a while back
and I finally found it on Pintrest.
His old lantern is light years better than mine!
I did some searching on Ebay for an old lantern,
but settled for a "new old" one.

The tiny aged ornaments in mine are from a garage sale!
I did mix in a few newer ones that matched the red in both the
lantern & tray to tie it all together.
Do YOU ever mix old & new?
There are a lot of fun new vintage inspired products.

Another Cedar Verse Sign

This portion of an old cedar bench has been salvaged.
It is actually the seat portion.

I used some pallet boards to brace the back.

I previously used the back rest
featuring a lovely scallop top.

I adore cedar & it was aged to perfection.
Covered in lichen from years in the elements,
a wire brush was needed to
prep it for rustic painted lettering.

This massive sign measures 2 by 3 1/2 feet!

Tree Haulers

I did up a few little rigs hauling trees.
They're so cute and my four year old
thought making these was so fun!

Santa x2

A simple .75 purchase at the thrift store
sent me home with a smile.

Great old nestled tins with the whimsical images of Santa!
The larger one I hung from burlap.
What a unique alternative to a wreath!
